Awards
The Indiana University School of Medicine Alumni Association annually recognizes alumni who have brought distinction upon themselves, their profession, and their school in three separate categories.
GLENN W. IRWIN JR. MD DISTINGUISHED FACULTY AWARD
Past Recipients
First presented in 1987 by the Association, this award recognizes distinguished faculty with outstanding service to the IU School of Medicine through dedication to students, colleagues, and the medical profession. Current or former faculty of the IU School of Medicine are eligible for this award.
DISTINGUISHED MEDICAL ALUMNI AWARD
Past Recipients
Created in 1970 by the Medical Alumni Association, this award recognizes outstanding alumni of the School who have brought honor to their alma mater by distinguishing themselves either professionally or by giving extraordinary services to the School. All graduates and former trainees (residents, fellows, or interns) are eligible for this award.
EARLY CAREER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Past Recipients
In 2006 the Medical Alumni Association established this annual recognition for outstanding accomplishments by medical alumni who have graduated within 15 years of the award presentation. All graduates and former trainees (residents, fellows, or interns) who have graduated within the past 15 years are eligible.

Past Recipients
This award is presented by the IU School of Medicine Alumni Association to an alumnus or friend of the School based on service, support, and career achievement. It is not presented annually; rather, it is awarded at the discretion of the Medical Alumni Association.
