Family Orientation – Saturday, August 14, 2010
9:30 a.m. | IUPUI Campus Center Room 450
While newly admitted students are participating in orientation programs on the morning of the White Coat ceremony, family members can attend a program specifically designed for them. A crash course on medical school, if you will. The IU School of Medicine Alumni Association has designed an informative morning to answer commonly asked questions about medical school for family members of a new medical student.
Spouses and partners, parents, grandparents, children, brothers and sisters will all benefit from this orientation. Topics will include an overview of the medical school curriculum, time commitment expectations, financial aid, and a year by year look at the progression from White Coat Ceremony as a first year student through Match Day as a fourth year student. The orientation will focus on both an Indianapolis and statewide center perspective, and students, administrators, and faculty will be on hand to answer your questions about your student’s medical education.
